Ordination

There are a few exciting events that have happened in the lives of my family over the past couple of weeks. I'm gonna start with my older brother, Michael's, Ordination to the Gospel Ministry. On May 25th, 2008, Michael was Ordained as a Pastor at Southside Baptist Church in Sarasota, FL!! This does not mean he became their pastor, but rather that he went through an interview, questioning, and a vote on his qualifications and candidacy for the pastorate in general. It was a pretty exciting ceremony which involved the Pastor of Southside asking Michael questions about the Bible and various doctrines such as salvation, the Trinity, etc. Michael passed with flying colors and I was very proud to hear the answers that he gave and the wisdom and tenderness that the Lord has put in his heart. He has an incredible devotion and submission to the will, character, and heart of God and I am blessed to know him. I know his heart blessed the hearts of all those in the sanctuary that night. I am blessed to have a godly, funny, and loving older brother!! Here is a picture of him right before he took the stage....hehe.
As part of the ceremony, my dad was able to introduce Michael. It was beautiful to hear how proud he is of Michael and of the man he has become. At the end of the ceremony each man who was a member of the Ordination Council laid hands on him and prayed over him. Here is a picture of my dad praying over Michael.
